Driver's seat replacement or re-cover??

Question

The leather driver's seat on my '91 EB Explorer is getting pretty worn. Where can I find the best deal for a replacement seat ?? Or, is it cheaper to find a shop to re-cover the small portion of the seat which needs help??

Probably cheaper to have a local upholstery shop repair it and certainly ahigher likelyhood the vehicle will look like it originally did.  If theleather seat comes apart like the fabric upholstered lumbar/bolsteradjustable seats it's pretty simple to take apart.  I bought an insuranceright off to repair that the lower frame broke in the accident.  Very simpleprocedure to remove everything, 5 bolts including seat belt get it out ofthe car, 3 bolts remove the back, 4 plastic channels to unhood from the seatframe, 3 hog rings and 2 metal clips to spread and it's off.  Take the coverin and have the worn segments replace.Steve
