hi,
I followed the directions in the manual and got fresh batteries and even tried it with batteries from the remote that works. I still cnat get the new one to work, any ideas.

What procedure are you following ?
You need to turn the ignition on and off until you hear the locks cycle. Then push a button on the remote, and you'll hear the locks once again cycle.
If that doesnt' work, either the remote is broken, or maybe you have the WRONG remote ??
there are several *similar* looking remotes that are not interchangable..
