Anyone installed one in a new Explorer? The issue is that special aftermarket sub boxes that custom fit the accessory cavity in the right rear will not fit the new models even though the size of the opening looks about the same. I even emailed the sub manufacturer to see if their fit info just needed updating and they said that it definetly would not fit.
The old method was to get behind the big plastic side panel and take off the clips holding the accessory box so it pops out, then pop in the custom subwoofer. Is the new cavity box not removable but molded to be part of the big side panel?
