2005 Lincoln Navigator rear-seat DVD entertainment system

According to the owners manual the 2005 Lincoln Nav's rear-seat DVD entertainment system is able to play mp3 burned to media. I say media since it does mention that it will only work on specific types media but it does not tell you which kind. I have tried cdr cdrw dvdrw dvd+r and dvd-r with no luck. On some formats it briefly displays the word "folder" but this fails to read anything else. I have worked with two FL dealerships but have not gotten a good answer since they both outsource their av issues to a 3rd party. I don't know if this is true or not but I was told by one dealership that Delphi actually made the dvd player and that it was a known issue they were working on. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to push this issue to resolution? I have an extensive collection of mp3's that would be perfect to burn to cd and or dvd. With the ability to control them from either the front seats or second row seats I would have a nice clean way to enjoy my mp3's and not have to deal with mp3 players, wires, or fm transmitters.

Thanks, Ted
