Hello, my 1989 Ford Escort LX, 2 door 1.9L CFI turns over but won't start. No fuel coming out of injector. No spark, fuel pump changed. (still no start) Timing belt is ok. Fuel comes out of fuel filter.
Any idea what to check next?

No spark and no fuel injection traces back to no spark. Check ignition system - not sure how the Escort is set up, but sounds like a possible crank sensor issue.

true... but did any cfi have a DIS? think that year still has distributor..
thus the notorious TFI module may be the problem. make sure you clean all the dried stiff gunk off it.. the guy at parts store counter will show you the dielectric lube and tool you'll need.
do not remove the distributor
