93 Taurus Wagon - Strut Replacement?

Is replacing the front strus a DIY job? If so, how hard? If not what is the typical cost? Tnks, Bill

A well equipped DYI can do it. But you will have to get a alignment when your done. You will need a spring/strut compressor. Then you have to knock the lower control arm off the strut . If the struts have never been removed, this can be fun. If the springs are not up to snuff, you can buy combo replacement spring/strut units now. Just bolt them in. You might as well drill out the strut tower mounts while your at it.

So the alignment shop don't charge you to do it when they tell you they can not do the front end alignment without drilling the spot welds out on the strut tower tops.

Bob

lmfao if the have to drill better take it somewhere else
