99 Windstar speakers and console light problem

Now I don't know if these two problems are related whatsoever, but they both seemed to occur at the same time.

For one, we noticed that the warning light for an open door would be on even though there are no open doors (the int light stays on, then turns off like it would if a door was open). It seems to be the drivers side door (so says my wife), but who knows. Sometimes it will stay on the entire time. Sometimes it will turn off mid-trip. Sometimes it doesn't come on (like it's supposed to)...

In maybe an unrelated problem, I just took out the stereo to dislodge a few CDs that my kids graciously inserted (yes, it is only supposed to hold one) and everything went perfectly...it plays CDs fine and radio fine, but now the back speakers are not working at all. I tried to unplug the wires a few times and plug them back but to no avail.

Any suggestions on these two issues?

Thanks!

Ben
