escort lx 97 a/c w'll not stop

i have a Escort 1997 SE , and since about 1 month i cannot switch off the A/C , i go to the side of the heater ( right ) and the air conditioning still work , i have to put heat so i dont freeze , so what should i look for to repair it and where is it located on the car .

If the Off position is 12 o'clock, the 1 o'clock position (1st position to the right) is bi-level output (air from the dash vents and from the heater vents below). The A/C is ON in this position, believe it or not.

So, there's nothing to fix. This is how it was designed to work.

To avoid using the A/C (and killing your gas mileage), use either the vent position (11 o'clock) or the heater position (2 o'clock). The A/C is also on in the two defrost positions, to help reduce the humidity when defogging the windows.

but i have a/c in all position , it never stop , before i did not have a/c in all position , is it possible that a switch is stuck or a sensor is not good .
