keyless entry program?

months ago I've seen links posted to program your keyless entry, anyone have that?

I bought a new one to replace my old broken one, both have the same FCC ID, for a 99 Windstar.

It is in the owners guide. If you don't have an owners guide, go to

If a transmitter has been lost or if you would like to purchase additional transmitters for your vehicle (up to four may be programmed), take all your vehicle?s transmitters to your dealer or perform the reprogramming procedure yourself. It will be necessary to reprogram all the transmitters to the vehicle at the same time while performing this procedure.

Reprogramming transmitters

To reprogram the transmitters yourself, place the key in the ignition and turn from OFF to ON eight times in rapid succession (within 10 seconds) ending in the ON position. After doors lock/unlock, press any control on all transmitters (up to four). With each control press of the transmitters, the door should cycle (lock/unlock) to confirm programming. When completed, turn the ignition to OFF. The door locks should cycle(lock/unlock) one last time to confirm completion of programming.

thanks for the info, I could not get that technique to work, my keyless entrys, including the one I know works would not operate the locks with the key in the On position, also didnt have 100% success in getting the locks to cycle on the 8th turn.

What worked for me was getting off my butt and looking at the owners manual packets, theres a little thin book in there called remote keyless entry instructions. move key to on hold programming button(near fuse box under dash) 10-15 seconds till horn beeps 3x, mine did not beep but 3 clicking sounds came from under the dash. Then hit a button on each remote and they both work now.
