Just yesterday my 2000 v-6 Ford Taurus started making what sounds like loud lifters or something under the frnt vlve cover. Oil level is full. It does go away after about 15 -20 minutes. What could this be?

Why dont you take the valve cover off and start it up and listen? Assuming its the 2v.
Loose rocker arm. collapsed lifter pulled out rocker stud. i assume you have oil pressure at idle?
If its the 2v they had issues with the CPS shaft that drives the oil pump.
