part number for the autozone 4.6 valve spring compresser tool......

May 27, 2005 3 Replies

someone at the newsgroup had mentioned that they got the spring compresser tool from autozone on a loan a tool program for 20 bucks.

i had called autozone about a month ago to find out if they had the 4.6 spring compresser tool and he looked it up and said that he had two in stock. i wasn't in a hurry for it, so i didn't stop by for a couple of weeks because i was told they carry them.

now, i stop by, the clerk looks up everything and says they don't stock it, nor can they get it. i stopped by two other autozones and got the same story. i can't believe that they don't stock this tool since they have been making the 4.6 since 1991. i can picture that they may not stock the 4.6 dual cam valve spring compresser tool because there aren't as many of those around, but not the single cam types.

any leads would be helpful.

thanks.

btw - one auto store had this tool and it was made in china for 62.00 - i didn't know that 4.6's were made in china....... :)
