Windstar as a towing vehicle

But most models/years are only rated to tow 2000lbs, and that's with the van not loaded real heavy (you also have to worry about the max combined weight of the Windstar and trailer). Plus there is the issue of the steepness of boat ramps, which can be an issue for front-wheel drive (the trailer load tends to un-load the front tires and reduce traction)

I have a 2000 Windstar and have a 18' alum bass boat and have no problems with it. Going up steep grades works it, but it pulls tough. Just make sure you turn off the O.D.
