2000 ranger speedometer malfunction

I have a 2000 v6 ranger and the speedometer will not rest at 0. it sits at 60K and progesses from that point and indicates inaccurate speed. it doesn't wobble orfly back and forth, it moves proportionatly... has anyone ever run into this before? or does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like maybe the needle popped lose. Anyway, you just about got to take it out and take to a speedometer shop for any repairs.
