96 ford Engine Idle

What causes my 351 to idle up and down up and down? not extreme, just a flucuating idle.

Any ideas? Thanks

Have you looked at the computer codes?

Your truck is OBD II (On Board Diagnostics, Level 2) compliant. AutoZone will let you pull codes free of charge, or they will pull them for you, depending on where you live. Alternatively, all cars and trucks sold since

1996 in the USA are OBD II compliant, and they all use the same code reader to extract information from the computer. You can buy the reader for about $100, if you are inclined.

In any case, there are events that will set codes, but not turn the Check Light on. There may be an answer to your problem in these stored codes.

It all depends on your ISP's newsfeed.
