CRAP!
I've been having varying amounts of trouble with the lock out that prevents shifting from P to any other gear selection. Today, I could not get the gear selector to move, and had to bail on my truck and drive the car. With the trouble, I've always found the right way to hold my tongue and get the selector to move off of P, but today it simply refused.
I think the trouble is dirt and grime related, but I'm not sure. It seems to shift out of P easier when it's warm than when cold -- and dirt and grime would be stickier when cold than when hot. Perhaps the trouble is the switch that detects the brake pedal being depressed -- dirt and grime on the switch would cause it to work poorly when cold and not so poorly when warm.
Before I start pulling panels and twisting myself into a pretzel, have there been problems with this that you can give me any tips about?
