I mistakenly put about 6 gals of gasoline into my 2002 F250. After I discovered the error, I stopped the pump and called a friend who said to fill the tank with diesel drive it home and call for advice on Monday. I drove it home (about 3 miles) and didn't have any problems. The tank had about 5 gallons remaining when I added the gas so right now, it has about
John, in the winter I'd say just use it. But in this heat, You'd probably get it out. Another option would be to, well we probably best not go there, I'll get flamed. If you have dual tanks, run the other tank out, then pump half of the gasodiesel into that tank and fill them both with straight #2 diesel. That will leave you about 10% gas in both and that will be ok. If you only have the one tank, then take it somewhere to have it pumped out (at least half of it) and fill with diesel.
Ah, just drive it and keep topping the tank off to bring the percentage down.
you did not say where you are. if you are in alaska, just drive it. if you are in death valley,drain some out and refill with diesel. an old trick for winter driving was to mix gas with the diesel fuel to thin it so it would not gell up in the cold . i used to mix 10 gal. gas to 100 gal. of fuel.
