hi,
i have just been out, as instructed by my wife, and filled up her 2001 VW MkIV Golf TDi with fuel. Unfortunately for her i am used to filling up with unleaded petrol, and this is what is now in her fuel tank. It was nearly empty and took around 45 litres (12ish gallons?) to fill. I have driven it for 3.5 miles from the garage and only realised my error when the car stalled at our drive entrance. It will now not start at all. Can anyone help ASAP. I have my eccentric father and his friend (who says there is no problem; as when he "was on the ships" they used to thin down diesel with petrol in the winter!) coming over tomorrow to drain the tank and refill it completely with diesel (that should sort it says Capt. Henry!!)
Will they do any harm and/or what can i do in the long (ish) run.
Many thanks,
from a very worried first time user
