Electrical problem

Not to me- but I'd try disconnecting your alternator to see if you've got a failed diode or diodes in there causing the drain.

Does it have a dealer installed alarm? My 2000 Contour and 03 Mustang both did and had this problem. On the Contour the alarm's starter disconnect relay was on all the time. When I removed the alarm I was shocked to see the crappy job they did installing it. I'm surprised Ford doesn't stop the dealers from doing this.

hi dave, I usually start with disconnecting the neg. batt cable and hooking a test light between the battery and the neg. batt cable. This will luminate the test light. Then, I position it where I can see it from the fusebox(es) then I start unplugging, and plugging back in. The computers will take a lil juice, so when you hit the big draw fuse, the test light will go to dim. Common problems are alarm systems malfunctioning, glovebox light, under hood light, bad radio install, aux. lighting, or aux. accesories such as radar detectors, gps units, or cell phone items. Your post says sevral amps, and youve done what I would start with, so next would be to disconnect the alternator, to check for diode issues. Please let us know how you make out.

I agree with the alternator. Unhook that first. Then you can consider all this other stuff.
