Trying to install a new distributor in the above truck 4.9l engine. The problem here is that the distributor flange wont seat properly against the engine block ( it stops about 1/4 inch or so ).The gears engage with the camshaft . I've tried rocking, twisting, no luck.. I think the problem is with the distributor shaft not aligned with the oil pump drive. Is there some trick to installing this properly?
