What is the real average gas consumption of a 6.8L EFI V10 engine, in a 2003 F350 4X4 Super cab pickup truck ?

2003 F250 V10 4x4 4.30 supercab: 10.7mpg mostly Los Angeles city driving. A little better on longer freeway runs, substantially less while offroading.

I know it's not a 350 - but there you go...

2001 F250 CC 4X4 gets average 11mpg. Towing a 30 ft, 7500 lb travel trailer anywhere from 7.5 - 8.5. Lots of highway driving, up to 13 mpg.

I have a '99 F350 CC 4x4 4.3 ratio V10 w/Banks Power Pac. Live in So Cal and average 12.5 to 13.5 mpg solo. Many miles are on the Freeways, but, also includes mountain driving. Towed a 14000 lb 5th wheel to Montreal last Summer and averaged 8.1 mpg over 8000 miles. Avg speed 60 mph.

Your mileage is very dependent upon you. If you are going to pull any load greater than 10,000 lb you should consider a Diesel. I'll probably pick up the 6.0 in 2005 for the extra torque desired in the Western mountains considering the weight of our 5th wheel.

I don't think you can make a bad choice. It is just dependent upon your needs. Don't forget your truck will weigh about 7500 lbs.

It depends on how and where you drive, but running with no load you can expect from 9 to 13 MPG. Anything more is boasting!!

2003 F-350 Crew Cab LWB SRW 4x4 with 3.73 4 speed auto: 11 in straight city driving 15.5-16.0 on the highway (Gotta love the 3.73) and 13 when I do a little of both.

I get 11.0 on the highway towing a 5000# trailer.
