Noise in transmision?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought a F150 super crew 2003 from a dealer (just 15000 miles on it). This is a Ford certifyed vehicle and I also got the extended warranty on it, just in case. I love the truck, but have a question:

When the vehicle is drived between 45 to 50 miles and hour, I hear a noise, I can't tell where is coming from. The sound is not very loud but if the radio is not on, then my wife and I notices it. It sounds like a wide 4 wheel road tire hitting the pavement. When I accelerate or brake it goes away. It doesn't seem to be mechanical problem. I don't know if the dealer will even listen to me, since the truck is mechanically pefect as far I can tell. The truck is stock, factory rims and tires, nothing special.

Should I forget about or take it to the dealer?

Rear gear noise is common in Ford trucks where you do not have the insulation to block it. The speed range you describe under acceleration is also common. You should have the oil level checked. May last two trucks have been delivered with low oil levels making them more noisy than necessary. The last one took 3 pints to top off with no leak at it's first oil change.
