I'm deep in this change and ran into one of many problems. With the new pump came a little baggie with a rubber o-ring and a teflon seal in it. It says on the instructions "A new teflon seal for the pressure hose is included with this replacemennt power steering unit. To assist installation soften seal in warm water expand over a tapered punch then transfer to hose fitting." My question is why is there an o-ring, where does it go and which side does the teflon seal go on? The pressure hose end that goes into the pump has a teflon seal on it already. It's a new hose. The old hose didn't have an o-ring at the gearbox. I ended up putting the line onto the pump and the other end into the gearbox. Do you have to de-aerate these like the pump directions state? How about the bleed? New to this task as you can see.
