Get some fleetguard coolant test strips and test the coolant for dca4. If none shows run away. This additive prevents cavitation, which is when holes develop in the cylinder walls.
I think you meant to say that Cavitation is what eventually creates holes in the cylinder walls, rather than what you actually said.
