updating ignition to electronic

Take the easy way out and install the Pertronix unit. It completely fits neatly inside the distributor and takes every bit of 10 minutes to install. You can find the units at Summitt Racing, Jeg's and other locations on the net. It is also available from larger parts supply houses. Cost of the unit is usually around $80. You may be able to find it cheaper.

Actually what I ended up doing on my '73 was I got the Distrib. and Duraspark unit off a Lincoln in the self serve junk yard since I found one with a brand new one. I had to recurve the ignition advance but it worked perfectly or 8 years until I sold it. Nowadays It's probably just as good and a whole lot easier to go with the "Pertronix". Mine burned out after 3K miles 'cause I left the ign.on.

The Petronix II units don't have that problem.
