'87 Dodge Caravan idles crazy

After manual choking, idles OK, tho maybe a bit fast. But the van develops idle problems after being warmed up - it'll die when slowing down in traffic. The dying is worse after being in slow traffic a bit. After being on the highway at high speeds the idle is usually way too high, and diesels after turning off the ignition. Ideas?

try cleaning the throttle body, I made the mistake of buying one of those Chrysler vans and it would get black stuff inside the throttle body and cause it to stick. Also you may get more help in a Chrysler NG not a Gm one :)
