The Volt is obviously a more open car for furry visitors than a true electric because the Volt is a hybrid and not really electric so the furry friend had a way to get into the car.

If the Volt had not had an ordinary engine on board it would not have needed to leave an opening for a furry friend.
Maybe the Volt should be sold with a cat as an optional extra?
So the salespeople would announce a free cat to go with the buy.
"Buy a Volt and get a pussy on the side"
