GM Re-invention

Officially bankrupt on June 1st, been bankrupt for 3+ years. Selling the same GM change line for 30 years.... Just saw the Canadian advert, what a sad joke.

Anyone believe this BS this time?

oh yeah, hilarious when accompanied by the inevetable cynical subtext. but I wonder, who is fooling who ? too bad for the many families who depend on the jobs that trickle down from gm- but then, one should not rely on getting their drinking water from polluted streams in the first place.

Contrast this with the latest jobs report; the only sector where there was an increase in employment was the public sector. This is way past being ridiculous. We live in a country where the highest paid group in the country, provincially and federally, work for the bloody government. It is also the sector that has virtually no job losses since the 'recession' began. When is this rape of the taxpayer going to end? Too much of the tax burden is now going to pay our public servants. Hell, in Ontario, given the example of E-Health Ontario, they can even grant themselves a huge bonus after only a few months on the job. And we get enraged when some private company pays it's CEO high salaries and perks? Wake up, Canadians, you are getting ripped off more by government employees than you ever have by the private sector.

And government is the biggest defunct debtor of them all.

As for Canadians waking up, I will not hold my breath.

well, a minister doesn't get $100 million+ from a company that is losing billion$. the f*****ad suits at the top who direct a company like a drunken sailor always seem to do well while the people at the bottom with the least power suffer, and suffer even greater because we are the ones who make the wealth that gets taxed to support everybody else. one can argue who will be the first ones against the wall when the revolution happens; but there won't be any revolution- and you know that.

-------- Perhaps not a revolution, but open disregard for government taxation.

Canada being a lot further down the road of socialist-corruption has a good percentage of it's economy operating underground. They avoid GST, PST, income taxes and licensing fees this way. It is one of the few parts of the economy that is growing.

Government even has programs to deter them, but they don't work.

Hell, if I need some work on my home, why should I pay $10,000 above board when I can get it done for $6,000? Because when you add up all the taxes and government BS, it is past 50% for many. If you can get piece work under the table, it isn't going to get nailed on the end of your income with 40% income tax, 9% PST, %5 GST, Workmans comp, CPP, EI, licence fees.

Restaurant owners, write off the food as waste. Yet it was really served and skimed of the tills. Makes it look like they earned a lot less than they did. Yard work people, run a leit side and under the table side, shifting expenses.

Want to buy a ring, at 14% HST in some that engagement rig can pay for part of the vacation and smuggle it back. Just bring cash OK, as the government watches credit.

People know the tricks. THe more government fleaces us the more people learn how to be crininal about it. I have eaven heard of law abiding people buying 6 gallons of windshield washer fluid and blue die, just to smuggle the booze. It is 3 times the price or more in Canada for no other reason than taxes.

Hey, it works for GM execs....

Government didn't win a damn thing. It was the soldiers willing to lay down their lives for the principles of liberty. Something squids like you know nothing of. You have no principles and being a leach on others is socially acceptable to you. You are pathetic, hope you realize how sick you really are.

When the revolution comes, and it may take years, the maggots will be driven back into their holes.

Seriously considering an underground career. Why not? Let the union employees pay for it. LOL.

Government pays the bills for the military, but if they actually ran it we would never win a battle let alone a war

You and I paid his expenses. The government acted as a middleman, consuming our resources in the process so that there was less available to pay the medical bills than was taken out of our pockets.

Once AGAIN our kook friend Canuck is WRONG. The US Government spends far more money on Medicare, Medicaid and the VA than it spends on National defense.

I don't know about Canada but you can bet your ass THEY spend little on National defense because Canada has always depended on the US to defend Canada LOL

"Government" didn't win the WWII, at least ours didn't. We went to war over Poland and then gave it away along with the rest of Eastern Europe to a dictatorship as bad and maybe even worse that the one we 'defeated'. And as to your last line, that is indicative of the totalitarian thinking of far too many on the left and the end result of almost every revolution in the 20th Century; the use of 'walls' seems to genetic in leftist political philosophy.

That is the truth. But you have to look at it this way. The neighbor to the north is a long unprotected border... better it be friendly than hostile.

You are right about Canada needing the US for it's sovernty. But best the US helps out here and keeps the north unprotected border a friendly one.

But that has little to do with my being a former GM customer not returning ever to buy their crap.

You can spend your money where ever you choose but the crap comment is just that, crap.

GM vehicles today are as good or better than those of other manufacturers
