car tends to start when the engine is cool, will not start when the engine is hot most of the time, can't find location of the starter either. mechanic is baffled, any information would help, thank you

What does it do when it won't start?
Does the starter relay click? Does the starter click? Does the starter turn the engine?
The starter is in the front of the car bolted onto the transmission on the back end of the engine.
