I need a [used] rear-end for '96 Vanden Plas Cost: $2,000 (I PRESUME that's the, "installed" price?)

I'd suggest the OP do some more checking and find out for sure if that is the installed price or not. Presuming is like assuming, not worth much in cold hard cash.
