Leather Care

The re-varnishing of the wood in the centre console of my XJ40 went well, except for some brush marks on the finish. Only issue now is of course I've got to do the rest to match the darkness of the newly stained pieces since it shows up how faded the rest of the veneer is.

But first I discovered a long crack had developed in a crease in the leather of the driver's seat. I used JB-Weld LeatherWeld to repair it, which seems to be working, after a long time trying to get the colour match right. I'll see how long it lasts...

I confess I've never done much to the leather before besides cleaning it with a damp cloth. I had a hunt around the shed and found a bottle of Selley's Leather Clean 3in1 and another of Zanolin leather conditioner. I've tried these and although the Zanolin makes the seats more slippery they don't seem to have made the leather much softer in order to avoid the creases which caused the crack. Anyone know some good products to use on Jag seat leather?

Mind you even if I actually get a reply here, most brands suggested elsewhere online seem to be hard to find here in Australia.
