XJ8 Phone circuit - wire colours?

Hi,

I've bought a third party in-car phone kit to fit in to my XJ8. I know it's not going to work with the built in radio controls, but I would like to tap in to the "mute stereo when call received" function, and would also like to pipe the sound from the phone through the speakers.

I've pulled the centre console out and found the connector block that would plug in to a Jaguar phone kit - can anybody tell me which of the wires are used to mute and what the wire expects in order to force a mute (does it need earthing, or a voltage?) and also which of the wires is used to send the sound back in to the car stereo. Also, I've heard that other car kits can be connected so that they do make the radio show "phone" when in use - which again you probably need to force in order for the sound to come through the stereo.

If anybody can help I'd be very grateful. Car is a UK 1997(R) XJ8 3.2 Sport.

Thanks! Russ.
