evening men, hey i was just looking at my stock spare on my sahara and want to replace it with the 31x10.50 that i have on the rest of the jeep. is there going to be a problem mounting that thing. looks like it would hit the light above the stock spare if it was any taller. thanks john jr

31" should be fine. It might be a little tight, but that's what they put in the Rubi with the same tire carrier. n.
When I put 31's on my 00 TJ it the spare fit fine w/o spacers.
On my '99, the 31x10.5 spare cleared the 3rd brake light fine. *But*, with the backspacing on the stock alloy wheels, I had to shave off a bit of the rubber spacers on the tailgate to get it to mount. I know quite a few people have removed the 3rd brake light, but that's just an invitiation to get crucified by the other guy's insurance lawyer if you're ever unfortunate enough to be in an accident IMO.

31 x 10.5 x 15 fit fine on my '02 TJ.
I strongly encourage you NOT to remove the third brake light. It's there for a GOOD reason.

mabar did pass the time by typing:
Yes! Because lots of brain damaged drivers are looking only at that cycloptic light now and not the actual brake lamps. I must count myself in that group because more than a couple of times I caught myself paying attention to only that light and wouldn't you know, the others were on but it wasn't. :/
