1947 Fire Engine Willys Jeep

"This fire unit, EZ-1, was the first fire rescue vehicle used by the Springfield Municipal Airport. It is the only original Airport equipment still in inventory dating from Airport development in 1945. This 1947 Willeys (sic) Jeep is original in all areas - body, engine and transmission. It was set up with a 100-gallon tank filled with water and foam premix, which was delivered through a 1 1/2-inch hand line with a brass nozzle. The gas-powered engine located on the front bumper drove the pump. This vehicle was in active service until the mid 1960's."
