97XJ Dana 30 Ball Joint remove/replace

OK...Replacing the passenger side knuckle & balljoints. I know I need a ball joint service kit to make life easy, and not damage anything else. With Harbor Freight being the closest place that has these kits, thought I'd poll the folks here and see which kit (38335-0VGA or 4065-0VGA) would best suit my needs. Also, will the 38649-0VGA ball joint & tie rod separator work as well?

Thanks, E

Harbor Freight is the last place I would go for tools. I use a "C" clamp and a fork:

I'm not surprised at all, but I really don't wanna know the details of how exactly you use it. Well, whatever turns you on, I suppose.

Just don't use your utensils of mass-disgustion on any of those poor monkeys you suddenly have the hots for.

4065-0VGA

38649-0VGA is otherwise known as a pickle fork and works well for removing ball joints where a press won't fit. You will need a BFH (6748-9VGA) or a APBFH (95801-0VGA) to use this tool.

I've got both the 4065 and pickle forks.

Also got some like this for the tie-rods and smaller work.

92882-0VGA Those work well on steering dampers
