clogged cat

OK, since the dumb jokes are already covered.....

Yes, a rear O2 sensor code could indicate a problem with the cat convertor. More likely though, at least in my experience, it's just a bad sensor. After making sure there were no wiring problems between the sensor connector and the computer, I'd replace the sensor, clear the code, and drive for a while and see if that fixes it. Unless, of course, you have other factors that indicate a bad cat, and you just didn't mention them in your original post......

No, not in my CJ, I think I was in the Cherokee and we were running every Saturday and Monday on the 401 from TO to Belleville then north Bon Echo Park way every weekend in May up to the first one in June.

I saw a Jeep that looked like yours somewhere close to Toronto, Yonge St. area north of the 401 I think, maybe not you.

Burn or drill a small (1/16") hole in the exhaust piping before and after the cat and feel the difference in pressures. Plug the holes afterwards. A muffler shop can do this rather quickly. Jim

They usually unplug themselves by pushing out a hairball. Sometimes the clog at the other end, but a diet change to wet food will usually fix this.

Yo Mike, Well, I live in Burlington while temporarily working out of Kingston. I'm on the 401 Fri & Sun evenings. I don't see too many big rigs out there especially CJs but the ones I have seen are impressive (and dirty). You one of em?

If you squeeze them like a tube of toothpaste it should unclog them also. Just be careful where they are aimed in case of excess pressure build up.

have to admit, I had help on that one...one of my buddies sent it as a reply....

Seen it, its pretty funny - painfully so almost. Poor kitty!
