engine vacuum test?

Is there any specifications for vacuum readings for the 258 engine. To look for vacuum leaks can you just check the general vacuum readings and if they are not right then look for problems? I have an 85 cj-7 which runs rough and stalls. All new ignition components, fuel filter, idle tubes are clean so I am thinking vacuum leak somewhere.

Not that I'm aware of. Just how-to's.

Best thing to do is grab a can of carb cleaner and start spraying the hoses. if the engine stammers you found the leak. Pay close attention to the flexi rubber joints, they go hard and crack..

The other method is to take the sytem apart and test each bit with a vac tester like this one
