It's also an easy way to loose nearly all the Jeeps resale value with an "altered" mileage Title unless covered under the exemptions from the Federal Truth in Mileage Act. If I were to make an offer for a vehicle with an "altered" mileage it would be assuming high mileage (20-30k/year) regardless of the actual mileage.

Drive it in reverse and then you can get negative mileage.

The ONLY reason to do this is to cheat the system.

Oh this is easy, and as far as I know completely legal. I'll give you the step by step instructions:

1. Install a tow bar on the front of the Jeep.

1. Tow it behind a suitable vehicle.

Your drive train will experience every mile it is towed and not one inch will show on the odometer.

You could always look in the factory service manual--or ask the neighborhood mileage scam artist.

Just take a crow bar and smash the odometer. Pretty simple, huh?

Are you trying to avoid racking up a lot of miles on it or are you just trying to make the lights go out that illuminate the miles? You could just disconnect the cable on the transfer case and lose your speedometer while you're at it...if fraud is your thing that is.

Remember, information is free...what you do with it makes you the criminal.

the miles are still recorded in the other computers and still can be read using a scan tool and jeep does this after the vehicle is turned in from lease

Everybody told you how to do it, using different techniques. Then you have the gall to come back and say you didn't like the suggestions. Perhaps you have a legitimate reason to do what you are asking or perhaps you are a troll. But with the information you gave it looks more like a troll than anything else.

There is no viable project to be done by disabling the odometer on a motor vehicle, except to defraud somebody along the chain of ownership.
