High Idle in my 86 cherokee

Jun 23, 2004 2 Replies

I have an 86 jeep Cherokee with a 2.5 TBI motor, it idles at about 2000 rpm once it gets warm, unless I use the motor to slow down the engine, then it will stay at about 1100. I cannot according to the sticker under the hood adjust the idle. Any Ideas about what I should look for?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, Thanks much

That 'usually' means a vacuum leak. Cracked vacuum line, loose TB, loose intake manifold, blown brake booster....
