Might I suggest that you put some red reflective tape someplace on the rear?

Poison Syder makes some great guards. They custom fabbed some for CJ and did a great job at a reasonable price.

You are right. Good point. The only reflective stuff back there is my license plate and OHV sticker. I'll have to figure out what I want to do about that pretty soon. Thought a little about marker lights, but decided against them at this time. Its something that we can add later on when I have ca$h again. The axles were pricey enough but those new rotors must be made from precious metals! LOL.

Looks cool though. But was thinking....other than my plate....I'm not sure what's reflective on a stock jeep!. Are the rear light covers reflective?! (haven't really stood back there in the dark with a flashlight!).

In the $? Not me! I sure wish tho... But...my Jeep has its own savings account (which is now pretty empty - time to start saving for that Atlas again). Its just that it needed to be done, and since it was all apart, might as well get as much done now as I could. He was really nice and didnt charge me for all of the hours of labor he really had into it.

Not sure about the covers, but, when the stock tail lights are on, you can see them from the sides.

For my TJ I got a package of assorted sizes and shapes of these decals at Walmart or some place like that for a couple of bucks. I think I took some of the rectangular decals and wrapped them around the ends of the rear bumper, that way they were visible from the side and the back.

I have been pulled over for no license plate light.... Just came out of a trail onto a gravel road at dark and sure enough along comes a cop. It gives them an excuse to 'safety' check everything too because it shows a lack of maintenance or some other such BS.... Only got a warning/fix it ticket because everything else checked out. :-)

I know, if they pull you over and want to, they can and will check for everything. I would get a heck of a fix-it ticket...license plate light, mud flaps, flares, etc.

Tail lights are from Mesa 4x4, its the most common LED replacement for flush mounting (its a TJ, they have the huge square taillights normally). The backup lights are also LED and we got them thru our local Nappa. They are pretty close to at headlight level.

Yep. that was just a quick and easy solution. Any truck stop will have loads of different types. Truck stops, by the by, are great places to get clearance lamps since they sell a lot of them.

Tape works but check the requirements, some have to be rated to be legal and you may have to meet a certain reflection area.

(I dunno about your area though, but reflecty tape won't work in Oklahoma)
