Last AMC Jeep?

Hi, I just transferred my 90 YJ over and I noticed on the ownership that it said 'AMER' in the "Make" spot on my ownership. I thought that the last AMC jeeps were 89's. The VIN is 2J4FY59T1LJ526671 if that helps anyone tell me if this beast was made by AMC or not.

(Carb kit goes in this weekend, hopefully that fixes my rough idling problem. All the pollution stuff is new now.)

Thanks, Dan Hoskin

It is a error of some sort. We *are* talking about a state-DMV, here...

Chrysler annouced the purchase of AMC in March of 1987. The deal was finished August 5, 1987, and the last "AMC produced car" was rolled off the line on December 14, 1987.

For the rough idle, check out this link:

The fix is easy to do when it's open for the kit, but it can be done (cleaned) from the top as a trail fix if the idle messes up while driving.

The idle tubes have a crimped end on them. It is just plain too small and plugs up easy. Reaming them out larger fixes this and allows the carb to just purr at idle. The tool used can be found at welding supply shops. I have metered files used for cleaning welding torch tips that I use.
