No error "43" for over a year now!

Hi



This is the longest I have gone without error 43, misfire. I have a '97 I6 GC. I have read lots of posts about weak valve springs, and perhaps this is part of the problem. I noticed last time that I had at least 1/2 quart too much oil. So I stopped taking my jeep to the local quik oil change shop. I guess that 10 minute oil change did not give it enough time to drain properly. So now, I am very careful to not overfill since I do it myself. I have, at times, just replaced with 5 and 1/2 quarts, and the jeep seems to run better than ever. If you keep getting error 43 as I have in the past, check your oil level. Who knows...

My '97 TJ has gone that long myself only to have the 43 code return. I can't go along with oil level having anything to do with it. Plus I have always done my own oil changes with six quarts used to refill it every time, even during my long periods of no 43 codes.

OK. Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the duplicate post. It took forever for my earlier message, and I thought my original post failed for some reason. Thanks again for the reply. I'm sure the 43 will come back some time, just because wires and plugs fail if no other reason. I just thought that perhaps because my 43 only occurs going uphill under higher rpm, perhaps the oil was foamed by the crankshaft, lifters collapsing because of it, or just maybe oil was slung onto the cylinder walls....well... just maybe.... cal
