OT--Selling cars on Internet

Anyone who has sold a car on the Internet, thought of it, bought one, readweb pages, or has an opinion...What is the best way, to sell a car on theInternet? My wife got tired of the old FJ40, and bought a 2002 CRV. Now Ihave three off-road capable vehicles, and a Honda Civic, all to myself. Ioriginally thought to restore the FJ40 to original stock condition, but Ijust don't have the energy or inclination to do that any more. The carnever became a part of the family, like the Jeep or the Suburban did,either.We put the FJ40 in the Durango Herald, but the number of calls I got waspathetic. I found this strange, because you can't swing a dead wolf carcassaround here, without hitting a couple of Land Cruisers, some of them incherry condition. They're not all driven by thirtyish Trustafariandreadlocks types either. But then one guy named "Philip" from "LongwoodIndustries" called, claiming to run an Internet listing service, similar toEbay Motors. The deal is $89.95 for a listing, fee refunded in the case ofno sale. He said something interesting, "Your kind of vehicle tends to sellfor a higher price on the Internet." I had suspected as much, when theHonda dealer said, "This is worth a lot of money, but I can't sell it."Anybody know anything about Longwood Industries? Or any other Internetlisting service? I have sold stuff on Ebay, but nothing this big. When Isold my restored Bug, I just sold it to someone I knew in the Bug newsgroup,who I figured would take care of it. Now I don't care how they take care ofit. I just want the money.

Perhaps I should rephrase that question.

What did Microsoft expect you to be doing while you were there? ( irregardless of whether you actually did it or not.)

Heh, Craigs List warns people to only buy locally, and the three closest sites are all at least six hours from here. I found the fraud alerts extremely helpful though.

Here's some ad copy and a few pictures, if anyone is interested. We have decided to let the locals look at it for a few days. And Mrs. Horton says, "Why don't you post it on that worthless Jeep news group you read all the time?"
