Req: Shock Recomendations 2000 XJ

Aug 25, 2005 2 Replies

Hi All,

Looking to replace my shocks and would like some advice. I don't have a lift but want a decent replacement for my factory shocks. I really do not want to break the bank though. Also, for the rear I would like something with a coil over spring, I sort of remember a set of gabriels that were not pricy, I just dont remember what model.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve

I put some Procomp 100s (I think? The whole set including a new stabilizer, boots, and shipping was $99!) on my wife's 00 XJ after her stock shocks bit the dust. It had a 2" lift, but I believe the shocks were good for no lift as well. Really, they were bottom-of-the-barrel as far as procomp was concerned (and that's really already the bottom of the barrel), but my wife liked them. The ride was quite nice after installing them.

Now if you're talking coil overs and using "do not want to break the bank" in the same sentence, I guess your bank and mine are a bit different in size.

Eric,

Thanks! Not really coil overs, I am looking at the Gabriel Load Levelers for the rear. They are like 80.00/pair.

Steve
