ruined this list?

Put the sender addresses in your kill file. Sooner or later, you will get enough of them, that the newsgroup is readable again. Keep complaining to snipped-for-privacy@dizum.com. Sooner or later they will get the picture, that no one is really using their "service" for legitimate purposes.

My newsgroup reader has a very nice "message filter". Add few names, keywords and ISPs and it's like it never happened. :-)

The troll has certainly made the group much less pleasant. Add to that the inability of some to resist the urge to respond to the trolls, thereby encouraging and perpetuating the chaos.

About your carb problem, it may be that no one had an answer for you. I read it and sat there scratching my head. I would say, go buy a Holley *WEG*

Sometimes it's a good idea to photograph things before you take them apart.

thanks - would love to replace the Carter - dont have enough $$ at the moment however... pictures definitely would've helped with the choke linkage, but not with the stepper motor... still not sure what to do. cheers, b

I imagine that a lot of the regulars have added so many terms into their spam or kill files just as I have and I am sure I miss a number of legitimate postings.

I did, however, see your post and while I did have some ideas the most prominent thought was this is a question for Mike Romain and I haven't seen him since I got back.

thanks all, came back to it after about 36 hours and it appears that stepper motor has finally agreed to play nice... managed to get it all back together, bent the choke linkage slightly and will see soon enough if its all about right. of course, in the process i have discovered a host of other problems... almost all of which relate to the emissions system. but thats a whole nother post. BTW billy ray, i sent mike an email directly - he once emailed me about a carb problem i was having so i had his address - but havent heard back from him yet... all in all it seems to me like this might have to become a moderated list... sure there's plenty of discussion about this already so i'll shut up - thanks to all of you who replied. cheers, b
