I was wondering why lifts are many time higher in the front than in the rear? For example a 4" lift has a 3" rear and a 4" front.
I need to replace my rear and have a 4" lift. Do I get a 4" rear (hard to find), or do I get a 3" or 3 1/2"?

All the lifts I have worked with are the same front and rear. I would get an RE 4.5" lift for your rear. It will sit up at 6" or so until you break it in if its leaf sprung back there and when you load up with gear you might just be perfect. KH
usually they are the same, however, for example, a TJ with a hard top will sit higher in front than in back. put a winch on the front and it evens out. toss a soft top on and its nose down. also springs that are brand new and not broken in yet will ride higher until they break in.
