Funny you should mention the Trace. I just asked about it over on the Harley group, as I've been thinking about it for our summer vacation ride. The only bad thing I heard from anybody was the 50mph speed limit and heavy enforcement of said limit.

Last time I was on it, the road was narrow and seldom straight. Add all the folks gazing at the scenery and even 50 seemed a tad reckless. 'course, that was 30 years ago...

Narrow and twisty...just right for the bikes. As I said on the Harley group, lollygagging is the object of the exercise. Gonna stop and check out all the historic stuff and any antique stores my wife can find. The good thing is that since we'll be on the bikes, she can't buy anthing *real* big.

Wives and fish both seem to go for small, shiny, sparkly things but the ones the wives like are expensive! Look out, there are several precious and semi-precious gem sources in the area .

Summer heat, humidity, and bugs can diminish the enjoyment some.

We just got back from a high speed run through North Carolina. Man it was beautiful! Like your wide, I am drawn to BIG furniture. So, since I had the KJ and an F250 tailgate in the back, I opted to drive on past. But NEXT TIME.....

I will be better prepared.
