Right, the 4.2 was carb'd, the 2.5 I4 was FI, that was your choice....there was no FI I6 available in the Wrangler in 89. I don;t think you need to bother looking up that website, because virtually EVERY OTHER website on the subject indicates there was NO FI I-6 available in 89. Either the website you mention was wrong or you read it wrong.

probably
The 2.5L was fuel injected in '89 but the 4.2L still being installed in the Wrangler in 89 and 90 was carbed. The fuel injected 4.0L was introduced into the Wrangler in '91. The Cherokee had the fuel injected
4.0L in 89 though.Jerry

Robb S - 17 Aug 2005 15:23 fuel injection was offered in 89 and newer models..... in 89, there was either a carb or fuel injection, then in 90, fuel injection..
.....so I've been told......

my mind specifically because I own a 89 YJ, and >EVERY time I read it, I think to myself that I should have done a little more research, and bought a fuel injected version instead........
As you said, you should have done a little more research.

You posted that the 6 was available in both. Nice try at backtracking.
Actually, I'm sure engines were available in either carb or fuel injections but just for an other manufacturer :-) Or at another time :-)

On other planets...
Robb, Now that you have established yourself to be a bit of a boor, I really don't care what your opinion is, and I'm not interested in debating it. So say whatever you feel is necessary to restore what misplaced sense of pride you have in yourself, and move on.

I'd still like to see the pix.
