Need Tire Valve Extenders To Take The Air Pressure Readings: 2013 Soul (2023 Update)

There is a brand, SLIME, which my W-Mart probably carries, though it seems to be out, of course, because it's probably mostly what people need/buy.

The good people that stock and order should realize such, ye Walton siblings, whom surely will read this while looking for information about caring for yalls cars' tires.

And I need the kind that doesn't stick (expelling precious air) after fully attaching extender to original valve stem.

It was cold weather, and the electronic "note" on instrument panel showed "low tire air" a few days ago when temperature got into teens.

i sort of fooled with a tire gauge (trying to gauge air pressure), but wife now tells me the indicator is now off, apparently because weather is so nice/warm today.

So never mind, Chevy: SNL Rosannadanna joke of 1970s, explained for today's relative youngins.

Now worrying about letting too much tire air out.

SLIME is a brand name that nobody would steal.

Hello,

It sounds like you're seeking a reliable tire valve extender to check your 2013 Soul's tire pressure more conveniently. The challenges with some extenders, as you've noted, are that they can stick or lead to air loss. Here's a guide to help you find the right solution:

1. Flexible Tire Valve Extenders:

Pros: They are generally easier to maneuver and reach compared to rigid extenders, making them suitable for tight spaces. Cons: May not hold up as well in the long term if they're continuously flexed or bent.

2. Rigid (Metal) Tire Valve Extenders:

Pros: These are durable and typically provide a reliable seal, making them less prone to leaks. Cons: Their rigid design might make them harder to use in tight spaces.

3. Valve Extenders with a Locking Mechanism:

Pros: These ensure a tight fit and reduce the risk of the extender inadvertently being loosened. Cons: They might be a bit more expensive than standard extenders.

4. Branded Tire Valve Extenders like SLIME:

Pros: Brands like SLIME have established a reputation in tire care products. If you trust the brand, it might give you peace of mind. Cons: Brand names might sometimes carry a higher price for a similar product.

5. Universal Valve Extenders:

Pros: These are designed to fit a wide range of valve stems and can be handy if you have multiple vehicles. Cons: The "one size fits all" approach may not provide an optimal fit for all tire valves.

Evaluation:

Considering your requirements, a Rigid (Metal) Tire Valve Extender with a Locking Mechanism might be the best option. This combination will ensure durability and reduce the chances of inadvertent air loss. While SLIME is a known brand, ensure the product you're buying specifically meets your requirements.

Suggestion for Moving Forward:

  1. Check online retail stores or automotive parts shops for availability if your local W-Mart is out of stock.

  1. Ensure the extender you buy is compatible with your 2013 Soul's tire valves.
  2. After purchasing, test the extenders on one tire first. Monitor for any air loss before using on all tires.
  3. Always double-check the tire pressure using a reliable tire pressure gauge after adding or reducing air.
  4. As for the fluctuation in the tire pressure indicator due to temperature changes, it's a normal occurrence. Cold weather can reduce tire pressure, while warmer weather can increase it. It's always a good idea to regularly check tire pressure and ensure it's within the recommended range for your vehicle.

Lastly, I appreciated the nostalgic SNL reference! Always remember: It's crucial to keep your tire pressure consistent for both safety and optimal vehicle performance. Safe driving!
