2000 Discovery

I'm looking at purchasing a 2000 Disco - any thoughts?

Intended use? Fuel type? State of relationship with bank manager? ;-)

I wonder if we're getting trolled here. Simular question to one me and Derek replied to a few days ago, with no follow up.

trolled? i'm not sure what that is...

anyway we intend to use it as a 2nd car - we currently have a Jeep and an older model BMW - we want to replace one with this car - I have always liked the Land Rover Discovery and found a private party selling one - just wanted to know if this is a car that can be reliable as we are tired of dragging our current cars to the shop.... this particular one has 70K miles - which in my opinion is pretty good for a 2000....

Any particular model of car can be reliable but wether any particular example is, is a different question. Remember we are talking Land Rover here...

Should think you are, there are tow trucks and recovery vehicles you know, no need to get out the harness and rope.

better google "land rover TD5 harness oil ingress" - the harness should have been replaced if not it is liable to cause problems . Derek

Hi !

I bought a '99 Land Rover Discovery II TD5 in this spring. And it has not dissapointed nor let me down, in any way. I can only give thumps up for this car :-)) And it is terrific in terrain because of the traction control system. It works kind of if you had lockers on every axle :-)) It is a genuine 4x4 because it has permanent 4 wheel drive.

Here you can see my lovely Land Rover Discovery:

My webpage is not in english yet, but there is a lot of pictures and Land Rover related videos (and one with a Jeep ;-)). The videos are in english though.

I hope you decide to buy the Land Rover. And welcome to you as a new Land Rover owner :-))

Kind Regards
