Hi All,
In considering a location for my second battery in my 96 MY D1. I am looking at removing the trumpet that is attached to the front of the air filter box. Has anyone done this before? It doesn't seem to be too much of a big deal and I am struggling to see how it would vary from a snorkel (from an air flow rate point of view). The only thing I can think of is maybe the warmer air as the intake is now closer to the block (by the 200mm trumpet length). Has anyone got any other reasons why this idea may struggle?

Ps. Road tests without the trumpet have revealled all seems to be ok.
